“Tietynlaisen; pateettisen taiteen sanotaan syntyvän taiteilijan hiestä ja kyynelistä. Toni R. Toivonen on nuorehko taiteilija, joka puhuu mustaa koskettaviksi pinnoiksi syöpyvillä maalauksillaan – toisinaan jopa ihon eritteiden syövyttäminä jälkinä. Lisänä oli vanhojen kirjojen aukeamista paittämällä ja leikkaamalla rakennettuja runokuvia. Dramatiikka vaikutti. Vain lehdistötiedotteen esittelylause, “hän alkoi aktiivisesti rakentaa paikkaansa suomalaisen taiteen kentällä”, vei mietteet draamantajusta laskelmointiin. Mutta ehkä ne eivät aina ole täysin eri asia.

“A certain type of art is said to be born from sweat and tears of an artist. Toni R. Toivonen is a relatively young artist, who speaks black with paintings corroding into touching surfaces – sometimes even with the etchings of the human dross. In addition, poem images created of old books made by cutting and covering over. Drama affected. Only the presentation phrase in the press release, “he began to actively build his place in the Finnish art field,” took the thoughts about understanding of drama to calculation. But perhaps they are not always entirely a different matter. ”
